Eye Donation – the Gift of Sight

You know your sight is precious. But did you know you could help give someone else the gift of sight through the generous gift of eye donation?

Here are some facts about eye donation:

Corneas from donated eyes can save vision for some people in danger of losing their sight to injury or disease.

More than 43,000 cornea transplants are made from donor eyes each year.

38,000 donor eyes are used each year for research on eye disease and conditions that threaten vision.

Corneal transplants are the most frequently performed transplant procedure.

Eye donation does not affect the appearance of the donor.

Donors' identities are kept confidential.
You can become an eye donor by:
Filling out a donor card and indicating your donor status on your driving license.
